NCSC Accelerator - Cohort 3

NCSC has launched the third programme within its Cyber Security Accelerator, based in Cheltenham.

Wayra UK are the delivery partner for the next stages of the accelerator, after winning a hard-fought competition against other bidders, who were looking to get involved in this prestigious project.

I’m part of Wayra’s delivery team, as “Mentor in Residence”, reprising the role I’ve had in the previous two programmes. My role is part-time, helping the teams clarify their value proposition and deliver a great product or service using skilful and secure engineering patterns. It’s a dream job, and the six new teams are great people to work with.

In alphabetical order, they are:

Barac, who specialise in analysing encrypted network events and flows, to help spot malicious activity, and help a business stop a cyber attack quickly.

Configured Things, who have created the models and tools needed to allow secure configuration and management of very complex interacting infrastructure (such as a smart city or a sports stadium).

haandle, who give families and small businesses the tools they need to manage internet use, and avoid cyber bullying, phishing or other attacks.

iHackLabs, who provide cyber security training, on-line for individuals, all the way up to cyber ranges for government-level exercises.

Lujam Cyber, who bring enterprise-grade network security to small businesses, without the need for resident security experts.

Nettoken, who provide a service that brings together all a person’s many accounts and on-line subscriptions into an elegant dashboard, and allows them to be managed securely.
